About Me

What to Expect From Eating Disorder Recovery Coaching with Safia

Professional Training & Personal Experience

My approach blends a lived experience of an eating disorder and recovery with accredited, specialised training through the Carolyn Costin Institute.

24/7 Support

In between sessions, I’m available 7 days a week via WhatsApp for support, accountability, and encouragement. Whether you have a quick question, need help navigating a tough moment, or just want a reminder that you're not doing this alone — I’m here.

Weekly Coaching Sessions

I meet with clients weekly via video sessions, offering flexible, fully online support no matter where you are. Each session is tailored to your goals, using a personalised coaching approach that evolves with your needs. Together, we’ll create a structure that fits your life — whether you're studying, working, a busy mum or rebuilding routine — so recovery feels both supported and sustainable. I also work alongside wider treatment teams to help create a cohesive network around you.

Whole-Person Approach

True recovery goes far beyond food and weight — it’s about reconnecting with who you are at your core. In our work together, we’ll look at the bigger picture: your values, relationships, routines, identity, and the deeper beliefs that shape how you see yourself. Whether it’s rediscovering what brings you joy, learning how to set boundaries, or rebuilding trust with your body, we explore the parts of your life that matter most — not just to survive recovery, but to build a life that feels meaningful, fulfilling, and fully your own.

Meet your Recovery Coach

I’m a certified Carolyn Costin Institute (CCI) Eating Disorder Recovery Coach, a former social worker and teacher, and someone who has walked the recovery path myself. My own journey began when I developed anorexia and became obsessed with exercise — later shifting into orthorexia. At one point, I realised that if I wanted to stay in Dubai with my husband and have a family, I needed to truly get better. With his support, I made progress on my own, but it wasn’t until I worked with an incredible therapist that I reached full recovery. That experience changed everything — and I now live the life I once only dreamed of: still in Dubai, with my husband and our three young children.

My passion for helping others reclaim their lives led me to train as a CCI coach. I bring not just clinical tools and structure, but lived experience, deep empathy, and a belief that full recovery is possible. I also co-host the Rewired podcast with my incredible friend and fellow CCI recovery coach Meg, where we share honest conversations about recovery and healing. Originally from the UK with English and Pakistani roots, I’ve been living in Dubai for 11 years. I find joy in the simple things — time with family and friends, meaningful work, and seeing my clients move from surviving to truly living.

FAQs About Eating Disorder Coaching

Recovery coaching is a collaborative partnership focused on supporting you to set and achive your personal recovery goals. Unlike therapy, which often explores past experiences and mental health diagnoses, coaching is future-focused and practical. I provide tools, accountability, and encouragement to help you build new habits, strengthen your mindset, and live the life you want beyond your eating disorder.

We typically meet once a week via online video calls, but the schedule can be tailored to fit your needs. Each session is personalized, focusing on your goals and challenges at that moment. We might discuss meal planning, coping strategies, mindset shifts, or anything else relevant to your recovery journey.

Yes! I offer ongoing support through WhatsApp seven days a week for questions, encouragement, and accountability. Whether you need a quick check-in, help managing a tough moment, or just some motivation, I’m here to support you beyond our scheduled sessions.
